San Miguel Plant receives an inspiring visit from the «Junior Achievement» program

The San Miguel Plant, received an inspiring visit from the "Junior Achievement" program. Students from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of San Carlos in Guatemala, enrolled in the stimulating Junior Achievement Guatemala program affiliated with JA Worldwide.

Our visitors embarked on the exciting adventure to learn about the entire cement production process, as well as get to know the social projects of the San Miguel Plant.

Accompanied by an entrepreneurial spirit, these young students visited the plant with support from the «Friends of Progress» program.  The students learned step by step about the cement production process; a knowledge-enriching experience.

Victor Camey, an engineering student, and part of the group that visited the San Miguel Plant facilities, thanked the Friends of Progress program for the information and access to the operations they observed.

«It is very important for companies to transparently showcase their operations with an open-door policy. Thanks to Cementos Progreso and the Friends of Progress team for organizing this incredibly enriching visit.»

But the journey was not limited to learning about the technical production processes. They also learned about the following environmental practices followed at the San Miguel Plant: innovative wastewater treatment methods, intelligent rainwater harvesting, educational projects at ENA School, and the advantages of Mesquite plantations.

Through Amigos de Progreso, our visitors can go to our different plants and learn about cement, lime, and precast concrete production. Additionally, the experience of the application of industrial safety and/or learning from our environmental and social programs.

Thank you for your visit, future engineers!
