The “Enrique Novella Alvarado” Private School -ENA- shined during the CIMAT 2024 National Fair, held on September 7th, an event that seeks to reward Guatemalan students for their creativity and innovation in Science, Mathematics, Art and Technology.
This contest is designed to inspire young people to develop innovative, feasible and novel projects, promoting learning and imagination in the country.
This year, ENA stood out with nine teams participating from its sites in San Miguel and San Gabriel.
In all, 24 students presented outstanding projects in the categories of technology, art and mathematics, proudly representing their institution.
At ENA San Miguel, five teams of 13 students participated in various categories.
One of the most notable projects was that of Daniel Fernando Xiquín Tezén, a fourth-year high school student, who won second place in technology with his GOXIN project.
This application under development seeks to improve mental calculation by decomposing numbers into hundreds, tens and units for basic operations, in addition to improving reading in order to favor cognitive development.
Meanwhile, at ENA San Gabriel, the students Francisca Yolanda Tepeu and Melanie Berenice Mérida Patzán, from third grade, won in the art category with their project “Cultura Guatemalteca”, a representation Guatemala’s patriotic symbols and women’s cultural role.
