Agreca Donates 20,000 Trees to Support Reforestation in Quetzaltenango

On Wednesday, May 29, Agreca made a significant contribution to reforestation efforts in Guatemala by donating 20,000 trees to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN) in Quetzaltenango.

Víctor Quixtán, Agreca’s Social Management Manager, emphasized that this donation initiates the start of the season’s contributions in Quetzaltenango.

These trees will be planted in areas affected by fires and in regions with water load issues, thus helping to restore damaged ecosystems and improve water availability.

Quetzaltenango’s goal for 2024 is ambitious: to plant 150,000 trees, a target aimed at strengthening reforestation and recovering eroded soils.

This initiative not only contributes to environmental preservation but also promotes ecological awareness among local inhabitants.

The donated species include alder, pine, and cypress, according to Leonel Estrada from MARN.
