Innovation and Knowledge, CID and Galileo University Strengthen their Strategic Alliance

Discover how CID and Universidad Galileo are strengthening their commitment to innovation and knowledge generation through a strategic alliance for the future.

Recently, the Technical Cooperation Agreement between the Research and Development Center –CID– of Progreso and the Galileo University was renewed.

This agreement, which reaffirms the commitment to innovation and the generation of knowledge, was attended by key representatives of both institutions, including Mario Orellana of Progreso and Dr. Eduardo Suger.

The agreement renews the collaboration that is bearing fruit with two important research projects:

Robotic Arm for the Manual Tamping Method: This project aims to develop a robotic arm capable of replicating the movements described in the manual tamping method according to the COGUANOR NTG 41003 standard.

This innovation not only seeks to improve the precision and efficiency of the process, but also to reduce the workload and risks associated with the manual task.

Artificial Intelligence Applied to Optical Microscopy: The second project focuses on the creation of an artificial intelligence model to detect and analyze different types of crystals in microscopic samples.

This model will not only identify crystals, but also measure and count the area occupied by them, providing accurate and valuable data for scientific research and practical applications.

Efficient management

These projects are managed by the Research and Development Center –CID- of Progreso and by the Research and Technology Transfer Center –CITEC- of Universidad Galileo.

CITEC is dedicated to offering solutions in research, entrepreneurship, prototyping, intellectual property and commercialization, collaborating to solve real problems in Guatemala.

The alliance between CID and Universidad Galileo stands out for its focus on the development of advanced technologies and their application in scientific research.

These projects not only represent a significant advance in their respective fields, but are also a testament to the potential of academic and industrial collaboration to drive knowledge and innovation.

The renewal of this agreement is an important step towards strengthening the relationship between CID and Universidad Galileo, underlining their joint commitment to research and technological development.

With these projects, both institutions demonstrate their leadership at the forefront of science and technology, and their dedication to finding innovative solutions to the challenges facing Guatemala.
