Mountaineer Jaime Viñals achieved a historic milestone by conquering the summits of Guatemala's 14 highest volcanoes in a record time of 15 days, thanks to Progreso’s support.

Jaime Viñals, the renowned Guatemalan mountaineer, makes history by successfully climbing Guatemala’s 14 highest volcanoes in just 15 days. Progreso supported this unprecedented achievement that sets a new record for mountaineering in the region.  Progreso is proud to have been a fundamental part of this challenge.

From the imposing Tacaná Volcano on the Mexican border, to the majestic Agua volcano, Viñals’ every step represented a challenge overcome with determination and Progreso’s unconditional support.

The challenge of the 14 volcanoes made by Jaime Viñals took him through different weather conditions: both in cold and rainy heights such as those of the Tacaná volcano, as well as the summit of the Siete Orejas volcano where he was able to observe the stars in a clear sky.

“I want to give them my sincere thanks. They are part of this dream and I am thankful for the enormous support they gave to make it a happy and tangible reality,” said Viñals. At Progreso we celebrate Jaime Viñals’ success for being a testament to the spirit of overcoming!

The journey included moments of great physical demand, such as climbing the Zunil and Pecul volcanoes in a single day, a journey that lasted more than 20 hours.  Despite the difficulties, Viñals remained steadfast in his goal, driven by his passion for mountaineering and Progreso’s support.
