To reach their potential, all participants in the value chain need to contribute to their waste management. «This must be better implemented in our society. Its application can already be seen through legislation and willingness, to do our bit, so we can become a developed country.»
Hard work is rewarded through becoming sustainable because Proverde saves non-renewable resources and fuel, in addition to being an example of sustainability in the country and the region.
Proverde’s co-processing business has both external customers (to whom they provide a final and safe waste disposal service, with the commitment that the waste is treated responsibly) and internal customers (manufacturing alternative resources from the collected waste, mainly fuels and alternative raw materials).
Carlos tells us about the enormous potential they have to continue creating alternative fuels and materials, as well as providing waste treatment services responsibly.
In the meantime, we already have success stories where municipalities and commonwealths have trained the population in waste collection and classification, as well as implemented specific collection centers for Proverde. We collaborate with the Ministry of the Environment in collecting and processing of up to two trucks of waste a week accumulated in landfills such as the Motagua River.
«Proper waste management fills us with energy» concludes Carlos Escobar.
