Cementos Progreso Holdings, SL reaffirmed its leadership in the Latin American and Caribbean cement industry by announcing the acquisition of 100% of Cemex’s operations in the Dominican Republic and its export business to Haiti.
This strategic move strengthens the company’s presence in the region and expands its operations to eight countries.
The acquired Dominican Republic plant includes two integrated production lines, cement, ready-mix, aggregates, and marine terminals.
These capabilities will enable Cementos Progreso to enter a growing market and respond to the demands of a dynamic Caribbean economy.
With 124 years of experience, Cementos Progreso is positioned as a benchmark in the construction materials industry, committed to generating economic, social, and environmental value.
According to José Raúl González, CEO of Progreso: “This acquisition represents an important step in our expansion strategy, adding highly professional teams and strengthening our purpose of building a better future in the communities where we operate”.
The closing of this endeavor is subject to regulatory requirements, after which the process of integrating the operations will begin.
