Business Day 2023 proposes change to grow

Progreso X, in its eagerness to promote spaces that encourage disruptive idea development to benefit the world through corporate innovation, sponsored Business Day 2023. This fifth edition, organized by Universidad Francisco Marroquín, UFM,Faculty of Economics, is entitled "Growth is for those who dare to change".

Business Day 2023’s objective is to contribute to updating and educating managers and entrepreneurs on issues related to business and innovation in order to lead the future of the business world.

It is also a fundraising effort for the Impulso al Talento Académico (ITA) Scholarship program, which benefits talented students in financial need. It enables them to complete their studies at the university and thus transform their lives, their families, and their communities.

World-class experts gathered to share with over 350 attendees from Guatemala and Central America. These high-level guests are renowned entrepreneurs, multinational company leaders, consultants, and best-selling authors in business practices and disruptive innovation.

Domenica Obando shared spoke about the importance of developing a broad vision and selecting the right people to make it a reality. She also talked to everyone about the importance of making the customer’s needs our priority; defining a clear and simple user experience that solves the user’s problem.

Santiago Carbonell, Leader for Latin America at Leap and Fuel, spoke about a study conducted by McKinsey called Startups Latam 2023: «A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor», where he spoke about the entrepreneurial scene in the region.

Federico Ranero, COO of Kavak, said that as a result of artificial intelligence they have been able to improve the market as well as the experience of buying and selling used cars. Federico shared the importance of positioning technology as a competitive advantage. It creates a unique user experience and focuses on adopting an evaluating, learning, and optimizing mindset for the customer.

Mel Torrie, Founder and CEO of Autonomous Solutions (ASI), highlighted the importance of focusing on developing people for company success, achieving a committed team that is not threatened by technology, but rather uses it as support in their roles and functions.

In this way, Progreso X expands a network of entrepreneurs and managers with an innovative mindset that will shape the future of the Latin American corporate world. At the same time, it supports the ITA scholarship program, while providing education for business leaders in Guatemala and Central America.
