Agreca's technical team has been in training since october 2020 and will conclude in july 2022; a formative process that includes training in 16 thematic axes, mnitory training, follow-up and home visits accompaniment, anthropometry, nutritious cooking, informative assemblies, etc.

The «Mejores Familias» program seeks to promote the organization, training and education of women, recognizing their capacities as agents of change to improve the nutritional status of their respective families and the general population; this fosters the development of healthy and productive individuals in the family and the community.

Since 2020, the team behind the «Mejores Familias» program by Fundación Carlos F. Novella, has been transferring skills to the Agreca Xela and Coatepeque staff, so the program continues the training processes that have been provided for over 10 years in communities of San Juan Sacatepéquez, where 1,533 women have graduated.

Topics throughout life

During the program, training processes have been developed in areas such as andragogy, self-esteem, health, among others.

The topics developed to date are the following:

• Pillars of Nutritional Food Security

• Community Diagnosis, Baseline of the program

• Laws of Andragogy

• Anthropometric technique

In addition, the program has developed the following these main themes: We Are Valuable; Because we are Valuable, my family and I take care of ourselves; Because we are valuable, my family and I live in a healthy environment, Because we love each other, we take care of our community, We take care of the health of our families and with better families, better health.

The data

To the date, 55% of the program has been transferred to Agreca staff and the experience exchange has been achieved between the teams in the different areas of Progreso.
