April was a very productive month for the “Together for your Home” program, which delivered four housing solutions. We continue to live the value of solidarity.
In San Juan and San Pedro Sacatepéquez, projects were carried out that directly benefited four families, directly benefiting 25 people.
In order to access the program, each collaborator carries out an application process and social, economic and technical evaluation to obtain approval of the subsidy for their housing solution in «Together for your Home». Upon approval, employees and their families are directly involved in the construction of housing solutions, since they support as part of a family volunteer, carrying construction materials and in jobs such as painting and decoration.

The collaborators Luis Cuxe, Rubén Iquic, Isabel Guamuch and Dionicio Choy and their families received the subsidy from the program to improve their home.
Isabel Guamuch, works as an alert at the San Gabriel plant and with emotional words, tells how valuable it is to have a decent house. “I am going to tell you a little story of my life. Before, my house was made of tin and wood and it was not enough for my children. Thanks to all the people who contributed a grain of sand to build my dream of having a decent and very beautiful house. From heart thank you»
Dionisio Choy Tezen began working nine years ago in San Gabriel. “When I had old sheets, in the winter the water would enter my house. Now I have a decent roof, a saving stove and a very nice bathroom. My wife and family thank you for giving us an opportunity.»
The well-being of employees and their families is very important to Progreso. Together For Your Home responds to the need to have a safe and healthy home, in which they can form a home with their family.
Another main objective of the project is to live the value of solidarity among the collaborators themselves, making voluntary donations to the program. For each quetzal that the collaborator donates, Progreso donates two more quetzals.
The Together for Your Home project turns 12 years old and has become one of Progreso’s flagship programs. The Blocks de Amor campaign will be launched soon to raise more funds for the program. Pay attention!
