New colors and Brightness for San Miguel Conacaste’s Nursery School

"Enrique Novella Alvarado" -ENA- private school students, teachers, and parents worked together in solidarity to improve the Nursurey school at San Miguel Conacaste.

As part of the experience of values, solidarity, and harmony, the internal and external walls were painted. The murals which have been decorating the school for several years were touched up.

In total, 260 square meters of the wall were retouched with the original color, and murals were revitalized by the artist José Felipe Rivas Sosa, son of artist Julián Rivas, who had originally painted the murals. Julián Rivas is a great legacy for the municipality.

This activity was carried out with the purpose of living in solidarity with the children who are being integrated into the country’s educational system. Preschool education is the stepping stone for children of San Miguel Conacaste to develop their motor, spatial, and social skills. This stage is fundamental for children’s development children and providing a worthy space for growth and healthy recreation is everyone’s task.

Thriving communities

ENA School, aligned with Progreso’s sustainability goals, supports people and communities to live better lives. ENA’s social responsibility program includes promoting equal opportunities, reinforcing diversity, and respecting the rights of the communities where the school is active.

The school offers the educational community opportunities for lifelong learning and an attractive, respectful, and healthy work environment. That is why, within its philosophy, it promotes progress and access to quality education based on values.

On this occasion, 23 students from 11th grade voluntarily painted the school alongside the entire educational community, in a gesture of solidarity, empathy, and resilience that benefited 112 students.

Contributing efforts

Improving the school contributes to an effort t made last December where a terrace casting was done over the bathrooms to place two 2,200 liters-capacity water tanks to guarantee student’s water at any time of the year.
