Skating at Cementos Progreso Stadium transforms the lives of children and youth

This fabulous sports initiative stems from a collaboration between Cementos Progreso, the National Skating Federation, and the National Skating Association. Better known as 'The Skating Club', this project brings together more than 40 children and young men and women who live in Zone 6 and Chinautla.

The athlete’s effort and dedication, as well as that of their families, are evident in the daily training sessions at the small square. They have a coach who guides them, two hours a day, through the discipline and technique of this federated sport. Their parents give them all their support and share their passion for the sport, as some of them are regional medalists as well as former members of the Skating Club.

Club de Patinaje is a federated sport

Cementos Progreso’s Social Management and Corporate Citizenship area has provided the facilities to host the Skating Club. In addition to sharing our interest in reinforcing the principles and values of Guatemalan children and young people, Cementos Progreso supports social and sports initiatives in the communities where it operates.

More than 20 children and teenagers are currently federated athletes. Their dedication and constant practice have rewarded them with medals and recognition in different competitions. Our skating Club athletes have advanced to the finals of the Skills and Abilities National Competition which will be held in August 2023. We invite you to join us, support and witness the development of our new generations as we build the country, we all want to live in.
