200 professionals from the cement, concrete, precast, and construction industries in Latin America attended the event. It became the ideal scenario to promote technology transfer and exchange among professionals involved in the design, production, management, planning, and construction of precast concrete projects.
The academic agenda included 21 lectures by experts on topics such as masonry design with concrete blocks, solutions in precast concrete buildings, among others.
The congress welcomed participants from 15 countries: Spain, Canada, the United States, Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Guatemala.
Manuel Lascarro, Executive Director of the Ibero-American Ready-Mixed Concrete Federation and Director of the Colombian Chamber of Cement and Concrete, said that at the meeting they discussed technology and advances in sustainability, as well as the application of precast concrete.
«More than 200 professionals gathered to talk about precast products, which in regions like ours become true allies in terms of logistics and costs».
The expert also said that they talked about standardization and common agreements to ensure proper formality in the area of precast construction.
After two years of absence due to the health crisis facing the world, the meeting returned to its in-person format in the city of Antigua Guatemala. In addition to exchanging ideas, attendees were able to enrich their pre-existing knowledge.
