Progreso culture can be felt at the Belize plant, where recently, the first year of operations was celebrated in our neighboring country.
During this period of time, our collaborators have been supported and trained in a variety of fields, which strengthened both commercial and production processes.
With an installed capacity of 100,000 tons of cement per year, the Belize plant will work with neighboring communities, ensuring environmental conservation, health and safety, and cement production with world-class quality parameters.
The plant is located on a flat 10-hectare site. Its monitoring program ensures that emissions of particulate matter and sound pressure are below the limits established by the World Health Organization.
These indicators contribute to successful training processes that employees have received. These processes range from new laboratory techniques, to practicing values through the Code of Values, Ethics, and Conduct -COVEC-.
Belize is known for an economy mainly based on agriculture, trade, tourism, and construction. These indicators became the main reasons for reaching out to the neighboring country’s market, and generate both opportunities and solutions for Belizean citizens.
As in every location where Progreso is present, each activity performed becomes part of the gears that build a more supportive and sustainable world.
By the end of December 2021, the first year of operations had allowed the company to achieve a market share of 51%, and by July 2022 it reached 58%.
In total, 76,000 metric tons of cement were sold, the highest figure ever recorded in the history of Progreso in Belize. This is an achievement that we are celebrating throughout the region.
