Two classrooms were inaugurated in the Victoriano Chacón school in the Puerto Caimito community, in La Chorrera, Panama as a result of the strategic alliance between the Mariano Rivera Foundation and Cementos Progreso Panamá. The amount of the investment was approximately US$10,000 then thousand dollars.
This project benefits more than 120 children who live in the surrounding communities. The students attend the local public school and now enjoy the appropriate infrastructure to receive their classes safely.
Let us appreciate that education, in addition to providing knowledge, enriches culture, spirit, values, and everything that identifies us as human beings. Education is necessary for every aspect of our lives.
In March of 2022, the Panamanian baseball player visited Guatemala to truly learn about Carlos F. Novella Foundation’s programs in the areas of education and social training.
The commitment is to work together through education, technology, and sports on behalf of children and youth in Guatemala and the region.
During his stay, Rivera spoke with neighbors who grow coffee, avocado, vegetables, and strawberries. He also learned about the agrotourism and sustainability projects promoted in San Juan Sacatepéquez.
Since 1998, the Mariano Rivera Foundation has provided children from low-income families with life skills they can develop for a better future. It grants university scholarships, tutoring, and special learning programs, among others.
