This movement is promoted by the Guatemalan Association of Exporters (Agexport), and will be the umbrella for a series of projects that will be supporting the communication, positioning and differentiation of the supply of products that national companies produce and export to other markets.
As part of the planned activities, collaborative efforts will be made in publications, pavilions at fairs and international missions, online sites and networks, various events, and other instruments that will contribute to the promotion and recognition of companies and entrepreneurs that stand out. in the national and international market.
In total, there are 26 ambassador companies that have joined this initiative and Progreso is one of them.
Our corporate citizenship manager, Guillermo Monroy, was enthusiastic about being part of this movement that seeks to raise the Guatemalan name and products. «The Guatemala Exceeds Expectations movement has the potential to bring us closer to our transcendent purpose of building together the country where we want to live.»
For 40 years, Guatemalan exports of products have had a total growth of 955%, since in 1981 total exports were US$1,291.3 million and in 2021 the amount reached US$13,618 million.
Adding to this data what is exported by the Services Sector, the export of goods and services in 2021 adds up to US$16 billion 868 thousand dollars. Exports generate better living conditions, jobs and, in general, a positive impact for the economy of all countries.
The quality of national products is undeniable and Progreso joins and celebrates these initiatives, which build more and better opportunities for all.
Progreso and its different business units are part of different initiatives whose purpose is to build together the country where we want to live. The export movement is one of the most important in the country, and being part of this initiative fills us with passion and pride.
