Progreso is committed to living the value of solidarity in all of its work. Recently, the second edition of «Blocks de Amor» culminated by collecting 20,282 blocks to build 14 housing efforts, for an equal number of employees and their families.
The fundraising campaign was carried out on different digital platforms. Testimonials were given by the program’s beneficiaries, active donors, and representatives from construction companies. They all relayed their experience and their reasons for participating in this project.
The activities took place from July 5th to 18th, 2022, and were a real success thanks to the enthusiasm and solidarity of collaborators who never failed to support the cause.
Blocks de Amor is based on the idea of promoting values set forth by the Code of Ethics, Values and Conduct –Covec-.
Blocks de Amor is an effort of all Progreso’s business units, to improve the quality of life of collaborators who do not have decent housing.
In 2021, despite the uncertainty generated by the health crisis, more than 15 thousand blocks were collected to build 12 houses, mainly in San Juan Sacatepéquez.
Progreso and its business units develop several projects to benefit communities and employees with specific needs.
Blocks de Amor is part of the Juntos por tu Hogar (together for your home) program, which has been supporting different sectors in areas related to housing, health, education, and nutrition since 2010.
