The "Cimentando las Bases" program held its second school for parents in San Juan Sacatepéquez and Sanarate, El Progreso, focusing on child nutrition and healthy lunch boxes. With more than 300 participating parents, basic nutritional concepts and the importance of parents actively participating in their children's nutrition were taught.

During this school for parents organized by Fundación Carlos F. Novella’s «Cimentando las Bases», participants learned how to prepare healthy lunchbox recipes and compared the cost of these with that of junk food options, such as cup soups and soft drinks.

This exercise was aimed at raising awareness around the idea that healthy and nutritious food is not necessarily more expensive.

Attendance at this event was massive, with more than 300 parents influenced in the different venues.

These types of activities are of great importance to the foundation, since child nutrition is one of the cross-cutting themes of the program.

Having parents participate actively is fundamental to children’s ability to learn, thus ensuring their integral development and wellbeing.

Efforts towards nutrition

With these efforts, the Carlos F. Novella Foundation reaffirms its commitment to nutrition education and promoting healthy eating habits from an early age, highlighting the importance of parents in this process.

This commitment is key to fostering a healthier community aware of the importance of nutrition in child development.

With this comprehensive approach, we seek to ensure a healthier and more prosperous future for all.
