Merco was prepared by Análisis e Investigación, the Spanish Institute of Market Research, and KPMG independently reviewed the methodology for ranking companies with the best reputation in accordance with the ISAE3000 standard.
This year, Progreso topped the list of companies with the best reputation in the country, and José Raúl González CEO of Progreso was named as the top corporate leader in Guatemala.
Other companies appearing on the list are: Coca-Cola, Banco Industrial, and Pepsico, while Marvin Pineda (Coca-Cola) and Javier Foronda (Walmart) appear as positive leaders in the country.
A total of 158 business executives from companies with an annual turnover of more than US$10 million were consulted; 284 experts in different areas and 1,200 Guatemalan citizens were also approached.
In addition, three sub-rankings were created, such as ESG, where Progreso, Coca-Cola and Banco Industrial stand out. The most responsible companies Internally, Customers, and Society, were Progreso, Walmart, and Banco Industrial. The most Responsible with the Environment were Progreso, Coca-Cola, and McDonald’s, and Javier Foronda (Walmart) appears as positive leaders in the country.
Progreso’s recognition as a leader in reputation, leadership, corporate governance and governance, environment, and social responsibility results from the unrestricted commitment of executives and employees to values, sustainability, and the country.
Merco uses a multi-stakeholder methodology, to prepare 8 rankings: Merco Empresas, Merco Líderes, Merco Responsabilidad y Gobierno Corporativo, Merco Talento, Merco Consumo, Merco Ciudad, Merco Universitarios and MRS – Merco Salud.
