ConstruiRSE project is born to improve the country’s access to housing

This alliance between organizations, financial entities, and housing developers seeks to reduce the housing deficit among the collaborators of partner companies.

Recently, Cementos Progreso, supported by a variety of different allied sectors, presented the «ConstruiRSE» initiative. The objective is to reduce the housing deficit among collaobrators of the participating companies in the program.

One of the objectives is to prepare engaged collaborators so that they can pre-qualify, be able to save in the future, and have adequate financial health. In addition, it seeks to improve the quality of life of Guatemalan families, promoting real estate projects and financial products with a fully identified demand for housing.

Cementos Progreso’s Solutions Manager, Kendy Paiz, assures that the Guatemalan company has a strong commitment to developing well-being as well as decent and affordable housing. «Cementos Progreso is committed to sharing dreams and building realities, and that is why we are encouraging more companies to join us today to Build Together the Country where we want to live».

This partnership seeks to impact an economically active population, that is to say, the collaborators of the allied companies, reducing the existing housing deficit in Guatemala.

Searching for solutions as a team

ContruiRSE will promote access to new housing (house or apartment), remodeling, extensions, improvements, and eliminating dirt floors.

To achieve these objectives, this initiative is supported by the Sistema Nacional Privado de accesso a la Vivienda (Private National System for Access to Housing), which will conduct a census among team members and measure housing demand amongst them

This will produce a database with information on the pre-qualification processes and those who will be able to save in the future, providing them with an accessible, sustainable housing supply and thus supporting the commitment to sustainable development.

The program seeks to contribute to seven sustainable development goals: End Poverty, health and well-being, gender equality, decent work and economic growth, sustainable cities and communities, and partnerships for the goals.

A proud example

Since 2010, Progreso has implemented the program «Juntos por tu Hogar», which has benefited 661 families with homes, concrete floors, water purifiers, energy-saving stoves, and other supplies to improve their quality of life.
