Progreso’s business units obtain ISO Anti-bribery certification

Certificación ISO 37001 -Sacos-Agreca-Mixto
ISO 37001 (Anti-Bribery Management Systems) identifies a management standard for organizations that are committed to transparency, and establishing a culture of integrity.

Obtaining this certification is an important achievement for the organization because it allows us to establish international standards that prevent, detect, and mitigate corruption. These standards will operate within Progreso and the following Cemento Progreso business units: Electronova, Econova, MFA Rocafuerte, Construfácil, Sacos del Atlántico, Agreca and Mixto Listo.

By incorporating this management system, the organization’s internal processes are strengthened and corruption risks, which are encountered every day, are mitigated. This step reinforces the culture of values, ethics, and transparency that Progreso promotes in all its work.

The ISO 37001 certification is the international standard that provides guidance in establishing, implementing, maintaining, reviewing, and improving an anti-bribery management system.

Bribery is one of the most habitual forms of anti-transparency in the business world. Committed leaders both in and out of the business world should contribute to establishing a culture of integrity, transparency, honesty, and compliance to combat bribery and corruption within their organizations.

This standard offers a series of measures that can be adopted, in a proportional and reasonable manner, to prevent, detect, and manage criminal bribery behavior in compliance with legislation and other voluntarily acquired commitments.

How was certification achieved?

To achieve this, Progreso and its different business units implemented an anti-bribery policy and program. This was communicated to all collaborators, partners, service providers, suppliers, consultants, etc.

In addition, a compliance officer was appointed to oversee the program, appropriate anti-bribery training was provided to collaborators, and a comprehensive risk assessment was conducted.

Progreso’s organizational culture is strengthened by this new implementation which also reinforces the Code of Ethics, Conduct, and Values -Covec-.

A culture based on values

The Code of Values, Ethics and Conduct -Covec- is the main point of reference for Progreso’s daily activities. Strategies, projects, and campaigns must be aligned with its content.
