Solidarity is a value that multiplies and lives in the "Juntos por tu Hogar" Program, which recently added three new members to its family.

Since 2010, the “Juntos por tu hogar” program has been one of the most important initiatives that Progreso and its different business units have developed for collaborators who do not have a decent home.

On this occasion, Rolando Chajón, Efraín Díaz and Leonzo Tepeu, are the new members of this great family, which amount to more than 700 benefited employees.

Rolando is an Agromsa employee in San Juan Sacatepéquez. He has worked as a field foreman for 4 years, has 7 children and his family lived in an adobe and cane house with a dirt floor and tin roof.

Don Rolando was visited by the company’s social component in 2021 and they were able to verify that he was in great need, however, he did not own his own land.

This panorama changed in 2022, thanks to having completed multiple processes, he acquired the deeds to his property and applied for the program.

One Dream

Leonzo Tepeu is also a collaborator of Agromsa and has 14 years of experience at Progreso. He currently works as a field foreman and his family includes his wife and 4 children; they lived in a room at his parents’ house.

He was visited by the social component in 2017 and in that approach, it was verified that he was living in overcrowded conditions. However the deeds to his land were mortgaged, and he decided to solve that inconvenience to become a beneficiary of «Juntos por tu Hogar».

Don Leonzo was not only motivated to pay off his debt but also to provide his children with a better education, so he enrolled them at the ENA School in the San Gabriel campus and enrolled himself in Law School.

For Don Efrain, the situation was similar and the results were encouraging. With three years of experience as an agricultural worker in Agromsa, he managed to learn to read and write through great effort and dedication while working at the company.

«I am grateful for the kitchenette and sink that they built for us. The kitchen is very nice and my wife is happy, it doesn’t smoke anymore and now when it starts raining, we won’t have to worry about it. Thank you very much to everyone for thinking of us and giving us this place».

For the families, their new home is a great blessing. They now have safe, healthy and dignified space to grow and improve their quality of life. The three collaborators are grateful to the Progreso Family for their solidarity and empathy and helping them make their dream come true.

Living the values

«Juntos por tu Hogar» seeks to foster the collaborators and their family’s integral development aligned with the Well-being axis of the Leadership Agenda, in addition to living in solidarity. This effort is possible thanks to economic donations from Progreso’s collaborators, who contribute their grain of sand to materialize more dreams each month.
