Beatriz Adriana Choc’s life is an example that teaches us that it is never too late to start over.
From her classroom at the Centro Educativo Estuardo Novella Camacho -CENCA-, Beatriz shares her inspiring testimony of overcoming, resilience and love for learning.
She is currently attending PEAC Stage 2, after having resumed her elementary education in 2023, and dreams of graduating, to open new doors to a future full of opportunities.
The CENCA program, in which Beatriz found a new direction, is designed for young people and adults over the age of 13 who, for various reasons, were unable to complete their studies.
Through flexible and personalized educational methods, this center not only facilitates academic preparation, but also fosters personal development and community integration in places where social and economic conditions have limited access to education.
“At CENCA I learned the proper value-centered way to treat others. I also learned to be disciplined thanks to the tutors’ teachings,” says Beatriz, who recognizes the positive impact the program has had on her life.
However, her path has not been easy. Beatriz faced prejudice because of her age and academic standing. Her family and social environment presented barriers that tested her determination.
“I thought I could no longer excel. I thought I only made few decisions and generally had little say,” Beatriz confesses.
Despite the difficulties, in 2023 he took a decisive step to change her life: return to the classroom.
With the support of CENCA’s tutors and classmates, Saturdays became a space to learn and grow.
Little by little, Beatriz not only regained her confidence, but also became a source of motivation for her family.
Today, Beatriz is a transformed woman. “I have changed a lot. My learning has improved and I have discovered opportunities to change my life and that of my family. I now enthusiastically support my children and encourage others to improve their daily situation,” she proudly states.
