The company has demonstrated its commitment to dignity and respect for its employees through highly competitive talent management practices.

In 2023, Cementos Progreso created 938 new jobs, driven largely by the expansion of its plants in El Salvador and Costa Rica

In addition, 65.3% of its workforce comes from the local communities where the company maintains operations, reinforcing its commitment to the economic and social development of these areas.

Diversity and Inclusion as Pillars

One of the key pillars at Cementos Progreso is diversity and inclusion. Women make up 17.6% of the workforce, 21.3% of whom occupy positions of authority and decision-making.

This inclusive approach is part of a leadership agenda that promotes meritocracy and mutual respect, based on the company’s Code of Values, Ethics and Conduct (Covec) on the economic and social development of these areas.

In 2023, Cementos Progreso also extended the ISO 37001:2016 anti-bribery certification to several business units in Guatemala, strengthening its commitment to transparency and ethics.

In addition, the company implemented an employee experience model, which allows for active and continuous listening to employee sentiment throughout their life cycle in the organization.

This approach has resulted in a significant investment in the development of its employees, with more than 83 thousand hours of training provided in 2023.

For Cementos Progreso, the integral wellbeing and continuous development of its human talent are essential to ensure the institution’s long-term success and sustainability.
