Over 40 leaders reaffirmed their commitment to safety and the vision of zero accidents in Costa Rica

Recently, Cementos Progreso Costa Rica conducted the "Safety Leadership" workshop, bringing together over 40 leaders to discuss health and occupational safety.

The meeting allowed us to review and understand the company’s safety indicators; the importance of observing, stopping, and reporting risky activities and conditions was discussed. Conversations also revolved around communicating more assertively, a key procedure for improving the operational development and Cementos Progreso Costa Rica’s sustainability.

Costa Rican leaders outlined work and safety plans in four areas: Operations, roads, leadership, and contractors.

Knowledge transfer was significantly strengthened by both, success factors and lessons learned, from the participating multidisciplinary teams who created the work plans to maintain the zero accidents commitment.

Committed in all aspects

The zero accidents vision should be understood as a dynamic process of continuous learning that systematically monitors risk factors becoming significant over a specific period. In this context, it is about minimizing certain threats and inappropriate behaviors through a continuous process of improving working conditions and employee well-being.

Working with a «Zero accidents» vision is a fundamental pillar of Progreso in all its business lines, as it allows employees to have an active awareness, take responsibility for themselves, and achieve successful operations.
