
Living the value of solidarity, a group of Guatemalan companies came together to deliver 150 hospital beds to the authorities of the Temporary Hospital of the Parque de la Industria that will serve to care for Guatemalans affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
This donation is in addition to the actions that Progreso has carried out since the beginning of the pandemic under the slogan «I take care of you, you take care of me.»
Coordination has also been carried out with government authorities, donations in kind and coordination with the communities surrounding our areas of influence.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, materials have been delivered for the construction of the hospitals of Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa, in Escuintla, and San Benito in Petén to attend to the emergency. The entrance to the Villa Nueva hospital was also paved, with an investment of 2.5 million quetzals.
In addition, more than 5,000 masks have been delivered to protect medical personnel and neighbors in the communities. 1.6 million quetzals have been donated in medical supplies for national hospitals and health areas of El Progreso and San Juan Sacatepéquez and benefited more than 100,000 Guatemalans by delivering antibacterial gel to communities, authorities, aid agencies and hospitals.
With these and other actions, Progreso lives the value of solidarity, one of the elementary principles included in the Code of Ethics and Conduct Values (COVEC), an instrument that describes the values that employees use to make decisions and thereby achieve goals. and the results.
Progreso calls for prevention measures to be maintained at all times, and not to lower our guard in the face of the health crisis that the world is facing with the new variant of Covid-19.
